Seattle's most exciting 17 piece Big Band, Swingin' at the Speed of Sound!
 |
The Mach One Jazz Orchestra is a jet-powered 17-piece big band spanning the
musical traditions of World War II through today’s exciting jazz innovations.
We’ve been existence for 8 years and have had the privilege of achieving a
regular playing schedule throughout the Greater Seattle area. We’ve performed
at various professional engagements such as the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s
Stardust Memories, Northwest Symphony’s Annual Fundraising Gala, Sysco Food
Service’s Annual Awards Dinner at Seahawks Qwest Field, City of Wenatchee Arts
Festival, Everett Golf and Country Club’s Annual Awards dinner in addition to
numerous summer concert series and big band dances. We’ve played for a number
of wedding receptions at a variety of venues including Union Station and the
Museum of Industry in Tacoma. If you like the music of Count Basie, Glenn
Miller, Duke Ellington and more, then you will love the Mach One Jazz
Orchestra.
|
The band was co-founded in 1998 by John Wesley and Barry Roberts and started
rehearsing in Bellevue, Washington with 6 members. Throughout the band, Mach
One features strong soloists and tight ensembles. The Mach One Jazz Orchestra
has gained a reputation as an aggressive big band that play with a great deal
of energy, technical competence and enthusiasm. Over the years, Mach One has
experienced surprising little turnover in personnel. Our members stay with the
band because they like to play great music!
Of the several big bands in the Greater Seattle area, the Mach One Jazz
Orchestra consistently ranks as one of the audience favorites and returns to
many venues on a regular basis.
We would love to be part of your musical event. To book the Mach One Jazz
